Worship Through Music

Something special happens when the music begins on Sundays at The Word Community Church. It’s more than the melodies our gifted musicians play and sing. It’s their spiritual ability to usher us into the presence of God that makes singing so special. It’s the freedom we have to praise God in whatever way we feel comfortable.

We believe that praise releases God’s power. It prepares our hearts to hear and receive the truth of God’s Word.

The Word

“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs…” Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

Worship Through Communion

Once a month (usually the first Sunday) we take time in our gathering to worship God through communion. Taking the Lord’s Supper is an intimate way to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross. His body was broken, and His blood was poured out so that we can have eternal life with Him. Communion is a chance to reflect on the sacrifice and worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Worship Through Giving

Giving back to God is a Biblical act of worship. It starts by acknowledging that everything we have comes from God. When we take this perspective, giving becomes a natural response to God’s gracious gifts.

And, just in case you don’t know, a willingness to be generous in giving is way more important than the amount given. (See Mark 12:41-44)

Worship Through Prayer

Each Sunday before service begins, a dedicated group of men and women gather to pray. They pray for the music, the message, the equipment, and most importantly they pray for YOU. That’s right before you even walk into The Word Community Church somebody has prayed for you. Kind of cool, don’t you think? We pray that God would bless you, encourage you, strengthen you and make Himself known to you.
